OBI Careers
Got talent and passion? You’ve come to the right place.
Our team is composed of an internal team focused on day to day leadership, management and operations, a scientific team of leading scientists from a variety of backgrounds and institutions, and affiliate members who support our organization in a number of different roles. All members maintain full affiliation with their respective institutions, including clinical and teaching responsibilities.
Scientific team members are active participants in One Brave Idea and are expected to collaborate on setting the direction of our research, discussing results, challenging each other’s ideas, and working constructively and collaboratively to achieve our goals, regardless of institutional affiliation.
Projects are funded on an individual basis and must strictly adhere to our principles and our overall goals, and are subject to approval by Dr. Calum MacRae, and based on funding levels, the American Heart Association and/or our Joint Leadership Group. While many of our scientific team members have active projects, membership in our scientific team does NOT guarantee funding, and funding is always associated with clear and mutually agreed upon deliverables, milestones and timelines.
Can’t decide between academia and industry? Join One Brave Idea, a research initiative dedicated to eradicating coronary heart disease (CHD). Funded by the American Heart Association, Verily, AstraZeneca, and integrated into Brigham and Women’s Hospital, One Brave Idea harnesses the best of academia, industry, and medicine in a unique effort to fundamentally reshape the way CHD research is conducted. We are seeking talented post-docs, staff scientists, software engineers, lab personnel, and project managers to participate in innovative phenotyping, large scale genetic, genomic, and proteomic characterization, and mechanistic cell biology to drive novel discoveries into clinical practice.
